Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 28th April 2026

1. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-Off Period) – Consumer Offtakers Only

If you are a natural person (individual) entering this contract for purposes unrelated to your trade/business:

  • You have 7 days from the date of signing the Hire Purchase or Lease agreement to cancel the transaction without penalty.
  • How to cancel: Send an email to compliance@sustainablefinance.ng with your full name, agreement number, and the words "CANCEL AGREEMENT".
  • Effect: You must return the asset (if delivered) to our office at your cost in its original condition. We will refund any down payment within 14 days, minus any reasonable costs for damage or usage.

Note: This cooling-off period does not apply to Corporate/Business offtakers or transactions completed via a physical business premises (shop/office) where terms were fully negotiated in person.

2. Cancellation by You (After Cooling-Off Period)

For Hire Purchase

You may request to cancel after the cooling-off period, but this is treated as Voluntary Termination.

  • Voluntary Termination: You may return the asset and stop payments provided:
    • You have paid at least 50% of the total amount (or the statutory minimum under the Hire Purchase Act).
    • The asset has not been damaged beyond fair wear and tear.
  • You remain liable for:
    • Any arrears outstanding at the date of return.
    • Any excess mileage or damage charges.

For Lease

You cannot cancel a lease mid-term without mutual consent. To break a lease early:

  • You must pay an Early Termination Fee equal to 6 months' lease installments, plus the cost of returning the asset to market condition.

3. Cancellation by Sustainable Finance

We may cancel this agreement immediately by written notice if:

  • You provided false information on your credit application.
  • You default and fail to remedy within 14 days.
  • The asset is seized by government authorities due to your illegal activity.

4. No "Change of Mind" Refunds on Services Rendered

Once we have paid a third-party CNG conversion workshop on your behalf, or you have taken delivery of spare parts, you are not entitled to a refund for "change of mind". Refunds are only available for statutory cooling-off (consumer individual) or proven breach of contract by us.

5. Process for Valid Cancellation or Return

  1. Notify our Credit Department in writing: info@sustainablefinance.ng
  2. Schedule a joint inspection of the CNG asset.
  3. Return the asset to: 17 Thaba Tseka Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, Nigeria.
  4. Sign the Cancellation and Release form.

Until the asset is physically returned and inspected, you remain fully liable for payments and any loss/damage.
